Third Reading Deadline Extended

Illinois House, House Rules, 104th General Assembly

The Speaker moved this bill's deadline for a final vote to the date shown, so it was not automatically sent back to the Rules Committee when the original deadline passed.

The Speaker sets the House's deadlines, including the last day for Third Reading and passage, and may reschedule them at his or her discretion (House Rule 9(b)). A bill that misses its deadline is re-referred to the Rules Committee (Rule 19(a)) — unless the deadline was extended, as here.

An extension does not mean the bill will be called; it keeps it eligible until the new date.
